TEXTAR company has been founded in 1913 in the German city of Leverkusen, as a society on selling the technical asbestos products. Since 1934 TEXTAR establishes production of brake shoes, and in the next 10 years the first deliveries for German automobile industry began. TEXTAR as the first manufacturer of friction materials begins deliveries of brake shoes on the conveyor and becomes the leading company in the market. In 1980 TEXTAR develops the first asbestosfree brake shoe and initiates the cardinal changes of the manufacture towards the ecological improvements and in some years the asbestosfree brake shoes would be delivered on the conveyor. Today TEXTAR is the company having more than 1500 employees and is the world leader in the manufacture of brake shoes for the automobile and railway industry. TEXTAR enters into world-famous concern BBA Group PLC. It is one of the largest international concerns on manufacture of friction materials for motor industry. In 1994 TEXTAR was awarded the DIN EN ISO 9001 certificate, and in 1998 the QS - 9000 certificate. FORD company has awarded TEXTAR the Q1 certificate. GENERAL MOTORS and ITT have conferred TEXTAR the SUPPLIER of YEAR rank. Virtually all the largest automobile manufacturers trust the quality of TEXTAR brake shoes since the production of TEXTAR complies with the highest international quality standards.
